Our Superheroes

This was a Halloween training exercise to see if they could really get into character. I think they pulled it off.

Whew, and now the moving in...

Moving is exhausting!

But using this box as a go-cart is so much fun...

And once my brother is around it's even more fun.

Gaga comes to the rescue

How'd she get to be nearly one year old already? Such a happy little girl.

Em and his Gaga. We couldn't have done it without her. I like the juxtoposition here; rough crime fighting Spiderman shirt (from Gaga) while holding the ever present soft cuddly bunny (from Grammy circa Easter 2008).

Quinn got to have some alone time with Gaga while Em was at school and I house hunted. They had time to reconnect and it was sweet to see. Quinny also enjoyed her new comfy cold weather clothes from her Gaga.

Emerson's first day of school. Here he's checking out the stick bugs while dressed in the latest spiderman warm up suit care of Gaga.

My mom drove my Honda from California to Idaho just in time to pick us up from the airport here in Boise. We arrived October 3rd and stayed in a great hotel just outside of town while I looked for a house. Emerson started preschool (Mon, Wed, Fri 9-12) on Monday October 5th after being in Boise for only 2 days. Yes, it was a whirlwind. And add to that, Sean was doing marathon legs of his cross country drive from Connecticut to Idaho. He left after dropping us off in Boston and headed west. Even in his hurry, he was able to stop in Miles City, Montana and visit our friends Rob, Jenille and their daughter Ashtyn. I didn't miss the road trip back, but I do wish I could have seen the Bruggers. We have plans to meet in the middle now that home is a little closer. So, Sean left October 3rd and arrived in Idaho on October 7th, just in time to hop on a plane to Santa Maria. Nick picked Sean up at midnight and they got up the next morning, loaded up our belongings from storage and headed back to Idaho. He arrived here in Boise on Thursday, just after I took my mom to the airport. I have no idea how it all worked out, but it did and we're here now and really loving it so far. Boise already feels like home. For a pretty substantial city, it feels quaint somehow. The people are open and friendly. Our house, although a little quirky, is in a cute old neighborhood with huge trees lining the streets. And to boot, it's about a twenty minute walk to Emerson's school. It's good to be home.

More You Nork

The whole crew. What a memorable four days we had. We're so appreciative of my mom and Lin for making these such smooth, easy, carefree days for us. Thanks mom and Aunt Lin.

My view at 5:30 a.m.

Other than the crazy time of 5:10 am, these are pretty nice little faces to wake up to. Quinn has been in our bed since birth and I think Em was feeling a little left out so he started joining us too. Most days I wake up to Quinn holding onto the headboard and trying to jump and Em laughing at her. Once I get a little coffee in me, it's pretty cute.

New York Trip

The Metropolitan Museum of Art - 17 acres is quite the undertaking. I think we saw maybe 20% of it. We could have spent the week inside and still not seen it all. It really is amazing.

We pulled the bikes over near this reservoir to check out the skyline.

Riding bikes through "The Mall" in Central Park with a latte in my hand on a date with Sean. Ahh, what a day.

Here's Quinn enjoying herself at the Natural History Museum.

Em reuniting with Gaga. Em says, "I love You Nork (read New York) cause that's where my Gaga is." Before going, Em had a lot of questions; is You Nork going to be our new home? Do all his toys get to come with him? Life on the road...I think we're all getting ready to be in one spot.

Here I am playing catch up again. We took a 2 1/2 hour drive to New York one of our last weekends in Connecticut. We were fortunate enough to stay with my Aunt Lin in her house about 1/2 hour train ride into the city. My mom flew out to visit Lin and be our nanny for a couple of days. Because of them, Sean and I got to see the city...I mean really SEE the city. We walked more in those 3 days than some people walk all year. From 11am until about 11pm we walked and ooh, were our dogs aching! The first day we all went to the Natural History Museum and spend a couple of hours. It's huge and we could have easily spent the day exploring. Around melting/nap time, my mom and Lin took the kids home and Sean and I headed for Central Park. We rented bikes and road around the entire park. What a great date!
