Coos Bay Finale

Just wanted to add a few pictures of our last couple of weeks in Coos Bay. We had a brief but nice visit with Ross and Debbie at the end of their Oregon Coast cycling adventure. They started in Astoria and ended in Coos Bay... 230 miles... in two days. Not really in two days but really 23o miles. I can't remember how long it took them, but I do know they saw some beautiful coastline.

Emerson's hoping to go on their next trip.

Quinn's sweet hat that Debbie brought her... from 1970.

Our last weekend in Coos Bay involved a visit from Grammy and a fishing derby in nearby Powers. We had a really nice visit with grammy and want to thank her for making the drive up to see us.

Ages were under four up to sixteen year olds. And who do you think caught the biggest fish of the derby??? Anyone??

That's right Emerson "The Fish Slayer" Waistell!! The winner was a 17 inch rainbow caught on a succulent night crawler and reeled in on a 3 ft Sponge Bob Square Pants pole (courtesy of grammy and grampy last year). Three other rainbows, bluegill and crappie rounded out the catch.

The trophy fish secured the Blue Ribbon, a new fishing pole and two crab pots. Crab pots were given away in Coos Bay, the pole will replace "Bob" when the time comes and the Ribbon hangs on the bedroom wall (when we have one again).
